Raising Your Business: For Moms Growing Their Business and Raising Their Family
Hey there business moms! Welcome to my corner of the Internet. I'm Yael Bendahan - mom of 6, business coach for moms, host of the Raising Your Business Podcast and founder of CEO Mom Academy.
If you're tired of hustling day in and out trying to get your online biz to the income level you're dreaming of, hearing business advice that just WILL NOT work for your life as a mom (5 AM club, anyone? NOPE), and trying to figure out HOW to reach that "work less and earn more" holy grail that's been dangled in front of you since you first Googled "work at home ideas for moms"?
Well, that's about to change!
We help incredible business moms JUST LIKE YOU to go from struggling solopreneurs to Confident CEO Moms! Inside this show, we'll be diving into the highs and lows of raising your family AND building your business. I'm giving you my best strategies for working smarter, not harder - and building more leveraged income with content that converts, an offer suite that sells, and the systems to keep your business AND home running smoothly - well, most of the time!
Nothing is off the table! And to make it even better it won't just be me! I am bringing in some of my biz besties, mompreneurs & fellow industry leaders to give you their best stuff on building your business SUSTAINABLY!
If we haven’t met before, let me tell you a little bit of our backstory! I started my virtual assistant business as a mom of 4 little boys, just wanting to make an extra $1K a month to help support my family. After growing a 6-figure service based business, and having my 5th child (and first girl!) in 2020, I pivoted into coaching moms through building their businesses in a way that worked FOR their family. Multiple 6-figure years later (for me AND my clients), I want to share everything I know about raising a family while being an ambitious business owner!

So after. 16 years of marriage. Six pregnancies and births. Countless pivots in my business and multiple six figure years. Here's the one thing I know for sure. About building a business that lasts. And that is. You will evolve, but there are some things that won't, once you become a mom Welcome to day two of eight days to light up your ear. And what do I mean by that? Exactly. Your business will evolve, but. Some things won't change. what do I mean by that? Obviously we all want to evolve and we all want to grow as a person. And I think that. Your business will only grow to the extent that you do as a person. There is a certain aspect of personal growth that is just necessary in order to truly grow a business sustainably in a way that lasts in a way that feels good in a way that is actually going to. Anyway, it's actually going to. In a way that builds a business that lasts. And I think that I think that when it comes down to it, once you have already become a mom and I don't mean this I don't mean this oh, only moms can have. Values or whatever, but is that your values and priorities really will change once you become a mother. And I think that if you were listening to this and you were planning to. Your family planning or your pregnant. Or you're trying to get pregnant or whatever that is. Even if you know that you want kids in the future, you have to prepare yourself for the eventuality that you're going to have a baby and everything is going to change like your entire brain chemistry changes. So how could your priorities not change? And there's the reality of business and that your business will evolve. But I think when it comes down to it, Your core values. If you were building a business as a mother, generally, I find that your core values. Last through all the evolutions of your business. Nope. My business has evolved. There's so many pivots. Okay. I built a service-based business. First. I was a virtual assistant and like, all I really wanted was to make was to make, a couple of maybe a thousand dollars a month for maybe$1,500 a month. There's just a, like a side hustle, so to speak and. Really just to bring in some extra cash. I didn't really believe I was capable of doing more than that. And then I started, realizing I could make more money work with business owners. I started specializing, I started building higher value skills. I started and I started selling Facebook ads and social media, and then doing funnels and launches and all that kind of stuff. And then I started productizing my services, which made me more able to deliver services while being exhausted and pregnant and postpartum. And not postpartum and during a pandemic with all my kids home. And then I switched into coaching and I evolved. I had a primary coaching program for a very long time with different, testing out different front end ways to bring people in. And that's pretty much what I've stuck with, but my programs have evolved. My methods have evolved. I've I perfected things. I've changed my philosophies on some ways of showing up. I've changed in terms of the way I coach and I'm very much. Giving people so much grace in terms of, especially, if you're a mom like. Holding space for the fact that not everyone has the same. Like level of. Achievement drive as I do, and not in a bad way, it means that people have different Enneagrams will have different personality types and they, some people want to build a business in a go go let's just make this happen. Like I'm so excited way. And some want to do it in a more laid back, wait. We both are okay. Obviously, allowing for the fact that your business will grow. Maybe a little bit slower you in a more lean back fashion, but. If you do it in a way that's aligned with you. It can still grow as long as you stay consistent. Right. And if you resist change, And you feel like no. My business, I've always sold this and I want to continue selling this even if the market is showing you that something has shifted. Then, or I've only ever sold high ticket. I don't want to create low ticket products, or I've only ever sold low ticket. I don't want to create a high ticket back end. Then, you may not, your business may not be able to evolve with the changing industry and with, with the changing reality of the world right now. So pivots are natural and they are necessary. But, you know what? The one thing that didn't change. Throughout all, this is my foundational core values. I started my business. I started my business because I had my fourth baby home with me and I did not want to send him out to daycare only to basically just go out and get a low minimum wage job that would essentially just pay for his daycare. I'm like, I did not have children to send them out. I want, I had children because I want to be home with them. I want to be able to see all their milestones. I want to enjoy every stage because it passes so fast. I can't even tell you how fast. Okay. Sorry. Okay. No, I actually teared up and I hate doing it. I don't like, I think it's very performative to just tear up. But I'm just looking at it. My baby, he just turned six months now. I feel like he was just born. And then I look at my 15 year old son who is six feet tall. And. Can literally pick me up. He's actually been able to pick me up since he was about 10, can I just look at my baby now. And I'm like this. Time passes so quickly. It just, every year it goes by faster and I want it to be able to be there and be present with my babies. As they go through all these stages and just enjoy every minute of it. And I truly do given, if someone said, I will hand you X amount of money per month and that's different, depending on what I want for my life at any given moment, but. If someone said, you know what? Just be a stay at home. Mom. Don't do anything else. I would do it. Right now I'm lucky. I'm lucky because the business that I have. Gives me so much. Like satisfaction in in, in the impact that I'm able to make. But I do not think that the impact that I make on my children by being there and being present with them is any less important than the impact I'm able to make for other moms. And so that is my core value. Running through all of this, through all the pivots, all the changes in my business. Was how can I build a business that both gives me the income that I need? And that changed again, based on where I was, what I believed I was capable of, what I wanted for my family, what I want for my family's future. How can they build a business that gives me the income that I need, but also enables me to be there and present for my family. And that is a core value of mine. And that is the lens through which I built everything in my business. And that is the lens. The lens through which I help my clients build their businesses because they want the same thing. CHIME So the code word for today is foundation. So make sure to put this code word into your Google doc or notes app or wherever you're saving the code words to submit in the form at the end of the week. So make sure to grab this code, word it foundation. And let's continue. Another core value for me is my marriage. Okay. I. And I actually am going to bring someone to the podcast to talk about this, but I see so many female entrepreneurs. Getting divorced. I do not think that as a reflection on that as a person. That makes them a bad person or wrong for getting divorced. And trust me, no one knows better than I, how much entrepreneurship can have an effect. On a relationship. It absolutely can. Especially when. You know, there are certain rules, right? Like for example, I started off as a stay-at-home mom. Her husband was the entire primary breadwinner. And then. I started working and we started sharing. Roles and any, and it definitely like was something to adjust to on both of our sides. But I know that is not something that I want to do. I know that I am in it. For good with my husband. And we have, we've literally grown up together. We got married as teenagers. We have literally become adults together. We have had ups and downs in our relationship. And we've had very difficult times and we'd have very amazing times and what I can say and what I'm really proud of is that my business has continued to grow and flourish and stay relevant this year. And my marriage has also done the same. I honestly like, and that is what I'm so proud of it for my clients, the CEO, my mastermind as well. Because when we were doing our, and 20, 24 wrap-up session at the end of this year, And we were talking about, Looking back at our business and reflecting on our business. And we're looking at our personal life. And all those things, every single person in my mastermind on that call said, And I've worked on my marriage this year and my marriage has actually improved. I really prioritize my relationship this year. And I was so proud of that because that is not a given that is not a given in this industry. Okay. And that, to me, that is a core value. Like I, if it comes down to my business or my marriage. Then my marriage is going to have to win even as painful as it might be. Because that is my, that. It is my commitment. I made that commitment. When I was 18 years old. Yeah, you. You think that's true. I made that commitment when I was 18 years old. And I stand by it. Every day. Okay. I'm committed to my husband and he's committed to me. And that is just how it is. Okay. And we truly like, and this is not like a boring oh, we're just committed and we're just doing it because we feel, we must know. I. I love him so much. And he is so amazing. He's doing incredible person and we've both grown as people so much together. And we've learned to, to allow for each other's differences and really just like actually find like the good parts of the of each other's differences and embody them a little bit more in ourselves. Like I've become, more like him in some ways he's become more like me in some ways In good ways, and so I want you to think about what is your unchangeable core, what are the values that have led you through. Everything in your business. What are the values that have stayed the same since you started your business? What are the things that have maybe changed and why do you think they have changed? Because once you have your core values, you're going to be able to communicate them. So much better in your content. Every picture that I post of me and my baby at home, or me and my husband. From spending time together. Although I don't do that very much, to be honest. I don't like to put my relationship on display too much. I really don't. But it's not just oh, just check me out. I'm the former baby. Me being on the floor with my baby is. Y I started my business. It was my entire, why. Okay. And so I want you to be able to know these core values, because once you do. That is what is going to attract people to you. Okay. That I, my clients, the reason why. My clients in my mastermind have all worked. I'm not going to say they've all worked in the marriages because I worked on my marriage this year. Okay. But I'm going to say is. I really do feel that I am able to give off. The vibes of my values and the people who value the same things are drawn to me. And other core value is my religion. I do not compromise my religion for anything. Okay. I went to my very first in-person event funnel hacking live back in 2019, and I am an Orthodox Jewish woman. I do not. Make physical contact with men that I'm not related to. And I met so many men that I'd been in touch with online that I'd connected with, that I done business work with and people that I hadn't met yet. And I did not shake anybody's hand. And some people thought that was very weird. Okay. And a lot of people were very respectful of it. And the funny thing is by the end of that week, I literally had guys like jumping in between me and other men going, oh, dudeish doesn't shake hands with men. And yes people, I became very memorable for that, to be honest. And and people remembered me, people remembered that about me and and for the, for good or not, if people thought that it was weird and wrong and how dare she, and that's so rude of her, you know what, like fine. That's okay. But my religion is something I do not compromise on. I do not touch my computer for 25 hours every single week, because it is my Shabbat. It's my Sabbath. And that is non-negotiable. Okay. What do you think isn't non-negotiable. Yeah. So I just want you to realize that yes, your business is going to evolve. But your core values are what creates the longevity of your brand. And that is what is going to attract the right people to you. And what I want to say is that if you take on someone else's values and you pretend to hold their values and you don't really like that is going to come through that, it's going to be felt. And you were not going to be attracting the right people. Okay. I just want you to think. Do some journaling around this, what are your core values? What do you value most? In your business. What do you value most in your business? And. How does this manifest in your offers? Okay. How does manifest in your offers? And this is the exact kind of deep work that we do in. My one-to-one intensives. So my intensives are actually on sale this week only. And I want you to check it out. The link is going to be below the link to my sales page for my special Hanukkah deals. Is below in the description. And I want you to check it out because this is the kind of work that we do. And we really help identify not just your core values, but also how you can manifest it in your messaging and attract the perfect dream soulmate clients who. Want to work with you because of you. And because of your skillset. And also because of who you are as a person. And who you are as a person that is going to create longevity. Okay, I'm going to wrap this up now. Okay. Don't forget to join the giveaway, just to submit. A podcast review on apple podcasts and follow my podcast, subscribe to my podcast and then send a screenshot of your review. Don't forget to do it before you submit it because. because. otherwise it takes a few days for it to load. And then I may not be able to see it before the giveaway is over. And then you can always add bonus entries. Once you're in the giveaway, you can add bonus entries by screenshotting this podcast episode and tagging me on Instagram stories and screenshot that tag.
