Multiple 6-figure years later (for me AND my clients), I want to share everything I know about raising a family while being an ambitious business owner!

What comes up for me is when I'm feeling unsure, I start to overcomplicate things. I'm like, Ooh, let me just design a whole complicated funnel, or let me just do this whole launch plan that I'm going to sit and plan and never actually implement. So this is like my, has been my personal work to lean into the doing less philosophy and really just focusing on that 20% that's going to drive 80% of the results, so if you feel like this is me, I'm so overwhelmed, I'm paralyzed, indecision, there's so many things I could do that I just dunno what to do. I'm gonna give you just a few practical steps to declutter and realign yourself with what is actually going to work well for you. Welcome to the Raising Your Business Podcast. I'm your host, Al Behan, founder of CEO Mom Academy, mom of Six and Lifelong Reading addict. This podcast is here to empower moms to run their businesses and lives like the powerhouse CEO. They are. I want you to believe that you can have the business success you desire. And be present with your family and to give you my best tips and strategies for how to make that happen. I'll be sharing the honest reality of balancing business and motherhood biz models that work for you. Marketing simplicity, and the mindset of A CEO, mom. Now let's dive in. Hey, welcome back to the podcast, and I'm really excited about today's episode. I say this every single week, but I don't know why I'd be creating episodes I'm not excited about. So I guess that's a good thing. I wanna do unpack a kind of a nuanced challenge that many seasoned entrepreneurs face, which is saturation. And I don't mean market saturation. But brain saturation. Okay, so if you've achieved milestones, right? You've grown your business, you've gotten clients, you've navigated all these different like complexities of entrepreneurship and different stages of growth. And despite all these accomplishments, right? You've had wins, you've had success, but there's this lingering sense of overwhelm. I'm going to. Submit that it's not from a lack of knowledge. I don't know enough. I don't know enough of what to do, but from an excess of knowledge, and this episode is gonna be all about recognizing that you are not stuck due to incompetence or a lack of knowledge, or you're just not good enough. You are actually just saturated for consuming too much information, which can lead to. Decision fatigue and misalignment because you're tapping into other people's authority instead of trusting your own. So I wanna explore in this episode how to declutter your mental space and realign with your core values and create a business and a business model that actually resonates with your evolved self. Not the newbie who's I've just gotta learn new stuff all the time. But the person who's learned, who knows things, who knows, who's tried enough things to know, like what works for her. Or what doesn't work for her and is really just ready for very customized targeted action steps and coaching support. Okay. And before we dive deeper, just a quick note, your momentum era, if you're listening to this, we've already started. Okay. It's a three week program that's designed for mom entrepreneurs who are ready to recalibrate their business strategies. Getting back to the basics of who they are tapping into that, that early entrepreneur excited energy, but with the knowledge and the wisdom of your evolved upleveled entrepreneur self. And we started this week, I believe, if the episode is going out the right time, and this is an audio led. Coaching reset that is gonna be offering you practical tools to align your business with your current season of life. Taking what used to work, letting go of what doesn't work anymore, and really just figuring out what to hold onto and what to let go of and what to declutter in your business. So if you are seeking clarity and alignment in the second half of the year, then this program is perfect for you. Okay, let's talk about saturation. Alright, so saturation happens when the accumulation of strategies and the advice and methodologies and content becomes counterproductive, right? It's this kind of paradox of choice, which is like the too many options that lead to paralysis. If you feel like paraic, I dunno what to do, I wanna post something, but I don't know what to post. I don't know what to talk about. This is a symptom of. Saturation. So consider these types of scenarios, right? You might have multiple courses and resources, but you struggle to implement any of them.'cause you're always like, Ooh, maybe I'll do this. I'll do this content strategy, or I'll do this launch plan. But then you find another one in your content library that's better and you're like, Ooh, maybe I'll just try this one instead. Maybe your content calendar is full, but. The engagement and sales feel off. They just don't feel like, you're not really get making sales from your content. You're not really making sales the same way you used to, or maybe you're just constantly tweaking your offers or your funnels. Seeking that elusive perfect, in quotes strategy. And this is not gonna be a reflection of your capabilities because you are so capable and you are so good at what you do. But it's just an indication that it is time to filter and focus on what really is going to work for you. And I love I've loved this book for a very long time. Kate Northrop's do Less book, which is very much about emphasizing intentionality over busyness. And in her book she talks about a lot of different things. That's where I was introduced to the idea of cyclical living and cyclical planning, especially as a woman who who has a cycle, although. Honestly, to be honest I'm still nursing and I'm postpartum, so I do not have the regular kind of cycle. But she talks about, the different types of, of tasks that make the most sense for different stages of your cycle throughout the month. And aligning your tasks with your natural energy cycles, with your menstrual cycles with your daily cycles even can enhance your productivity. And also just like your mental wellbeing. And I talk about this when I talk about your internal external time task match, right? When I talk about trying to align the types of tasks you're doing with. The time of day with what you're currently doing physically and also where, how much mental energy you have. She also talks about energy management, right? So prioritizing activities that energize you and delegating or eliminating the ones that drain you. For example, this is for me, I just hired a virtual assistant. She's she's fantastic. I love her. One of my favorite things that she does for me is takes my carousels and designs them For me, that took so much mental energy for me and I found that I just wasn't posting because I just didn't have the energy to create. The carousel, even if I tried to keep it as simple as possible, I still wanted it to look nice, and even if it wasn't looking like the perfect branded perfection. I just was pushing off, like putting out content because I just didn't enjoy design, but she's good at design, so this works out really well for me. I get to stay into, in my zone of genius, which is writing content, and she gets to be in her zone of genius, which is design and tech, right? And also the aspect of Essentialism and the Pato principle, which she talks about, the 80 20 rule, which I really truly do believe focusing on that 20% that drives 80% of the results. Rather than trivial busy work sort of tasks. And when you're integrating these kinds of principles in your business, you can create that sustainable business model that honors your per personal rhythms, your family rhythms, your responsibilities. And I've really tried to embrace this as much as possible because my. A red flag, so to speak. I mentioned this in the previous episode. What what comes up for me is when I'm feeling un unsure, I start to overcomplicate things. I'm like, Ooh, let me just design a whole complicated funnel, or let me just do this whole launch plan that I'm going to sit and plan and never actually implement. So this is like my, has been my personal work to lean into the doing less philosophy and really just focusing on that 20% that's going to drive 80% of the results, so I just wanna give you a few practical steps. If you feel like this is me, I'm so overwhelmed, I'm paralyzed, indecision, there's so many things I could do that I just dunno what to do. I'm gonna give you just a few practical steps to declutter and realign yourself with what is actually going to work well for you. But before I do that, I just want to talk about the Fertile Void. And Kate talk talks about this in her book as well. And I just wanted to bring this up because very often we fill our time with just doing stuff, right? It's like I don't know what to do, so I'll just do things right. So I'll scroll or I'll Google or read a book or rebuild a sales page or play around in Canva. When she talks about what she calls the fertile void, this is the sacred pause between doing and birthing something new. And I know for me personally, it's very hard for me to just sit and let things be and just think without filling my time with a training or a podcast or music or work. But the truth is that. Your best ideas are gonna come from rest, right? That time that you weren't trying so hard, that moment in the shower, and you have an amazing idea, that random dream you had in the middle of the night and you woke up and wrote something down that you completely could not understand. The next morning when you looked at your notepad or your notes app that walk with the baby in the stroller and in your momentum era. I'm going to be showing you how to find that white space and giving you permission to build in that white space into your life. So your next move doesn't come from pressure, but it comes from power. Okay? So that is when I'm telling you these things, I want you to remember that, when I'm giving you these tips and these just a few ideas to help you take a pause and realign. I want you to do it from this perspective, right? Taking a step back and pausing is actually giving you space to grow. Alright, so instead of grabbing another course or just going straight into what's next? Relaunch. Let's do something, lemme just do something to create momentum. I want you to be able to pause and create momentum from a place of intention. Okay? So here are a few practical steps to declutter and realign yourself in your business. If you're feeling saturated and like you just know too much, okay? The first thing I want you to do is audit your commitments. Alright? Audit your business. What are your current commitments in your business? What offers do you have? And. Banana and I want you to make a list of everything that you're doing, right? Offers and funnels, and content plans. And I want you to look at every single one and ask, is this aligned with where I'm going or where I've been, right? Is this, does this align with the person that I wanna be, the person that I want to embody, or the person that I used to be and maybe am not anymore, right? And you might, you might notice that. You are just doing things out of default to an extent, and not necessarily because they're actually serving you right now. Okay. And the problem when you know too much is that you tend to jump from strategy to strategy. And you're like, oh, I could try this. I could try that. I could try ads. I could try this funnel. I could try that funnel instead of actually thinking about what funnel actually serves me, what actually makes sense for my business. Do I wanna run ads? What kind of ads should I even run? Are you even thinking about that or are you just saying, oh, this looks really cool, this person's making a hundred KA month, doing that thing. I should do that that's the first thing. Audit your business, audit your current commitments and see where you may not be doing things that are aligned with the person that you want to embody right now. The second thing I want you to do is unsubscribe. Alright? Not from everybody but unfollow, unsubscribe, create space. If someone confuses you, mute them. If they trigger spirals, and I guess I'm just not as good as them. And why will I never be as good as them? Or why are they so much further ahead than me if you're, and I know that this has happened to me too. And I was, I actually spoke to a friend of mine who we started in the online virtual assistant space at the same time. And then I continued on down the service based path and she continued down the core space path. And it was funny because we spoke a few years later and I was like, wow, I kinda wish I'd gone down the course. Path earlier. And she was like, yeah, right now I'm wishing I could just have a local business marketing agency and like just put the whole course thing down, right? So pe you might be looking at other people being like, we start at the same time. Why do they seem further ahead than me? First of all, you don't know everything. And second of all, if they are giving you that feeling of I'm not enough, or why can't I be there, right? And you find that it's not serving you, it's not actually, amping you up and giving you a reason to take more action and go further and do more than un unfollow them. Unfollow them for now, or mute them, whatever. If unfollowing them is gonna cause drama, then don't cause drama, but mute them so you can't see what they're posting. Unsubscribe from their email list or have it go straight to trash or whatever, or protect your brain. Alright, protect your brain. It's your most important asset, honestly, because if your brain is scrambled with all kinds of imposter syndrome and thoughts that are not serving you, and beliefs that are not serving you, you are not gonna able to take action. Alright? That is not a place to take action from. The next thing I'm gonna recommend is picking one focus for one month. Okay. 30 days. One focus, one offer, one strategy, one platform and give it space to actually work and see what happens. Alright. And again, I know this is hard to do sometimes and I, it's funny'cause I have something coming up. I have a crazy really exciting birthday month coming up in June and and I'm gonna be doing a lot of stuff. Alright. And you'd be like, I thought should stop and focus. Yes. May is my focusing month. Okay. I'm very head down in May. I'm delivering a momentum era and I'm creating a, an asset behind the scenes. That's pretty much all I'm doing. Alright. I might be promoting you here and there. I'll be, I might have a couple of spaces for intensives and things like that, but like, when it comes down to like actual launch and promotion focus. I am focusing very hard on one very specific thing. Okay. And the important thing to remember is that this is not forever, right? I just wonder what would happen if, let's say you were like, I'm gonna talk about this one offer for six weeks, right? This one high ticket offer, this one service, and nothing else. I'm gonna just think about all the different ways I can talk about this, offer all different angles I can take, I promise you like. And I was launching my CO on Mastermind like last month. Like I still have stacks and stacks of content ideas to sell this mastermind. Like I'm not lacking any content ideas to sell this mastermind. Okay? But when it comes down to it, like you will find that when you really dig into your offer and when you reconnect to your offer, that's what I would recommend you do if you're focusing on selling one offer. Okay. I really encourage you to sit down and we're gonna be doing this in your momentum era to sit down and reconnect to that offer, to the story of that offer. Why did you create it in the first place, right? Why does it light you up? Why are you selling it? Why do you wanna sell it? Because not just, it's probably not just money, right? Because if it was just money, there's probably so many things you could sell that would make you money. So why are you choosing to sell this thing? What does it do for you? What does it do for your ideal client? Where are they gonna be? And that's what I want you to think about, like when you reconnect to that offer. I really find that when I just take the time to sit and think about that is where so many of my content ideas come from. The stories of my offer, the stories of my clients in that offer, right? There's so much, but we're just like, oh my God. Let me think of like fun hooks. Yeah, hooks are cool, angles are cool, but and I teach this in my, in my Momentum roadmap course, right? I'm, when I talk about launching and, your content brainstorm around your offer, like reconnecting to your offer, the logistics of your offer. Why is it the way it is? Why did you create it in the first place? Who is it for? Why is it so important for that person? Like when you really reconnect to it and you're not just like doing it, like by default I be like, oh, let me see my launch stuff last time. Oh, it did. Nothing really converted. I should probably just take some launch email templates and plug them into the chat. GPT, no, I tried that. It did not work. Because if you don't feel connected to your offer, you are not gonna have energy and excitement around your offer. And if you're gonna be selling something for six weeks, you better have energy and excitement around that offer, otherwise you will not be able to sell it for six weeks. So I really encourage you to sit and think about what you wanna sell and sit down and really reconnect to that offer. Like date it, get to know it again. Like why did I like you so much? And. Give it that space. Give it that space to work. And the last thing I would say which I think is gonna be so important for you, and I know this is easier said than done as a mother, I know Schedule white space into your week. And I remember my friend Anna Rapp she used to call it gold space. Because sometimes like you have gold space, which is like when you're not completely alone and you are not completely like. In your own head, but so you have kids around or you're taking a walk, or maybe you're driving in the car or whatever, right? Laundry doesn't count unless you find that laundry just makes you meditative and just inspires all kind of ideas, which does happen for me sometimes, but I'm talking CEO clarity walks. Okay? Journaling with some ice coffee just sitting at the table and journaling, right? Instead of diving straight into work once a week or once a day or early in the morning or while you're nursing your baby. Sit and journal instead. Or while you're having your morning coffee, sit and just give yourself space to think. Do not connect the chat. GBT. Do not connect. Connect to your computer. Do not start scrolling Instagram. Do this before you start scrolling Instagram, because give your brain time to just percolate and clear up. And. I really honestly think, like this is what I do whenever I feel oversaturated with information, is I just really, I start unfollowing people. I put myself in a content fast. I'm like, I'm not gonna consume other people's content for a week, two weeks. I give myself, it's hard. It's hard to do'cause I love reading. I love learning. I'll be like, okay, for one week I'm gonna just not consume content. I'm gonna create and not consume content. But if you find that too hard, I recommend you sit, you commit to creating before you consume. Okay. And that white space is going to give you, this is gonna give you the space, right? The mental space to think about what you want to create. Okay? Just sitting and staring at a space and doing absolutely nothing productive for 30 minutes. That is where the real ideas live. Alright? And again, a DHD here I'm not relaxed unless I'm doing like 17 things at once. Like literally it is, that is what comes naturally to me. But I cannot tell you like what has come from just sitting and thinking and letting my mind just wander. Okay? Like again, I know you're a mom, you're busy. You have 758 tabs open in your head. I know. See if you can build in start building in white space once a week. Book some time to do absolutely nothing productive. Take a walk journal, sit and stare into space, sit in the park and just listen to the birds. I don't know. That is where the real creation and creativity and strategy can come from. So if your brain feels loud and your business feels heavy, and you feel like I just know too much, I have too many ideas, there are too many strategies I could do, you do not need another new strategy. You need a reset, and that is what your momentum era is about. We are open right now. We've already started. If you're listening to this in real time, it is audio based. It is real life mom proof and it's built for the woman you are now, right? Not the survival mode version you probably were when you started. All right. No fancy worksheets. It's no fluff. It's just clarity, action, and intentional momentum. Okay? The link is in the show notes or DM e reset on Instagram, and I'll send you the link personally if you have any questions about it. Just. Feel free to reach out to me. You're not stuck. You just know too much. This is a good problem to have because you know a lot, it is all inside of you. So let's get unstuck and let's fix that together. I'll see you next time. I can't thank you enough for listening to raising your business. I hope this episode has inspired you to take another step towards building a business and life that you love, and growing your income in a way that works for you and your family.
