Raising Your Business: For Moms Growing Their Business and Raising Their Family
92. Want to Build a Business That Can Run Without You? Start With This
What if your business could keep making money — even when you’re on the floor playing with your kids?
That’s not just a pipe dream, mama. It’s absolutely possible… but only if you stop trying to automate confusion.
In this episode, I’m breaking down the real first step to building a business that runs without you — and it’s not funnels, ads, or a shiny new course. We’re talking about your signature offer and signature message — the one thing you want to be known for, the transformation you deliver on repeat, and the thing that will become the engine for every scalable offer you create in the future.
I’ll walk you through:
- Why “all roads” in your business should lead to one core offer (your "Emerald City" offer)
- How to design that offer with scale in mind (even if it’s 1:1 for now)
- What it takes to nail your scalable messaging so your offer sells in webinars, emails, and content — without a single sales call
- The order of operations for building a leveraged, automated business
- How to set your business up to thrive when you’re at 20% capacity, not just when you’re at 100%
Plus — you’ll get an invite to my FREE live training on Monday, August 18th, where I’m going to show you exactly how to create a simplified business model that can generate a 50K quarter without the hustle. This is the exact strategy I used to make $50K in just 60 days, and I’m walking you through it step-by-step!

Okay. We all want a business that can run without us, right? The the goals of any business owner but definitely of a CEO Mom is a business that doesn't depend on you. It does not depend on you having to put out content every single day, constant DMing and being glued to your phone or your. That that's really all we want. I know I said this to my husband and I mean it, I'm like, I just wanna sit on the floor and play my babies and get paid to do that. That would be the most awesome thing ever. Now, obviously, I absolutely love delivering to my clients, and I've discussed this in the past, and that's why I don't think I'm ever going to have a business that runs like completely without me, with zero, client time. I love my mastermind, and the reason why is because I just, I love love being able to go deep with people and really just dig into their business, dig into their strategies, dig into their mindset really help them, have these huge transformations, but I also don't want my business to depend on me only being able to do that, right? And so what I need you to know is that before you can automate anything before you can build funnels and courses, and even a front end offer, you're gonna need this. All right? So the one thing you need to remember, the biggest takeaway you need to have from this episode, and we're gonna go deeper into this, but. You cannot automate confusion, alright? You have to be known for one thing before you can scale anything. And we're gonna talk about that a little bit more. And next week I'm gonna be hosting a free live training where I'm gonna be sharing exactly how you can create a 50 K quarter with a very, simplified business, with. Your signature offer that you are known for with your unique genius and just giving you the foundation for that scalable business. And I'm gonna show you exactly how you can use this to hit 50 K in Q4. So I'm gonna be sharing a little bit more about that and I'll be telling you how to join at the end. Welcome to the Raising Your Business Podcast. I'm your host, Al Behan, founder of CEO Mom Academy, mom of Six and Lifelong Reading addict. This podcast is here to empower moms to run their businesses and lives like the powerhouse CEO. They are. I want you to believe that you can have the business success you desire. And be present with your family and to give you my best tips and strategies for how to make that happen. I'll be sharing the honest reality of balancing business and motherhood biz models that work for you. Marketing simplicity, and the mindset of A CEO, mom. Now let's dive in. So let's talk about what it really means to build a business that can run without you. So you might think, okay, I just need to build a course, or I just need to create a funnel, right? Everyone's oh, just create a funnel. Just create a funnel. And the truth is, okay, that you, in order to create a funnel that works, that converts you're gonna wanna have one that starts off. Selling to your warm audience, right? Like setting straight to cold audiences doesn't usually make a lot of sense. You want to test it with your people before you can run ad money behind it.'cause otherwise it could be a big waste unless you have loads of ad money to spend, in which case you're probably doing okay, right? But if you want to really build, I. A funnel that is going to convert into, more sales compounded sales, higher ticket sales later on, you're gonna wanna launch this to your existing audience first, and in order to have an existing audience in order to build the audience around you, in order to build the foundation of a business that can run without you. You need to have a known, clear, anchored signature that everything else is built from. When I say a signature, I mean your signature offer, but also your signature message. The signature thing that you stand from. Your unique genius, right? And your signature offer might still require your time now, right? It might still be a one-to-one offer but it should deliver a repeatable, specific transformation because once you have productized your signature offer to the point that you can deliver it over and over again in a repeatable fashion, obviously everyone's gonna have their own little version of this. It's gonna be customized per person to an extent, but the process is the same. The end transformation really is the same. Then that will become the engine behind all your future leveraged income streams. Okay. And I've, as I've spoken to a lot of different people, I was, I did my real secrets of CEO Moms summit recently, and I spoke to a lot of different moms and a, and really so many of them said similar things is that they really simplified with. They're one main offer that they lead to, and even the ones that have loads of front end funnels, which you can definitely build over time. It all kinda leads back to the same one offer, which I call like the Emerald City offer, right? All roads lead to that offer. So let's talk about the three core foundations that you're gonna need before you can really scale your business to a place where it can grow without you being live in it all the time. So the first one is your unique genius. So this is the work that you want to be known for. Okay. That you are so good at that it just comes so naturally to you. Now this may be a lot of things, like if you're anything like me, I am a multi-passionate, multi-purpose I say multi-talented, but I am good at a lot of different things. I'm very much like a Jill of all trades'cause I'm interested in a lot of different things. You're not going to be known for every single thing that you're good at. Okay. You want to be specific enough to really stand out and deep enough to really scale. And this is gonna be the hook that your funnel and your front end offers and all that other stuff is going to build itself around when you're in over that one thing, that one genius thing that you aren't so incredible at that you're so good at helping people do. You are going to basically have the foundation for your entire business. Now, for me. I, this is hard for me. I'm gonna, I'm not gonna lie, this is hard for me because I, like I said, I like to talk about a lot of different things. I like to help my clients do a lot of different things. This is not something that's just, I'm like, oh yeah, it's this one thing that I'm good at, and that's it. No, I like a lot of things. I'm interested in a lot of things. However, when I really sat and thought about what is the, my favorite transformation that I'm known for that help my clients do that, help my clients. Really have these transformations is that I'm, I help them simplify down their goals. Like I help'em basically simplify their entire process. That they can create a business that can scale. Because People tend to get into overcomplicating and overthinking and over everything. And the truth is that I help my clients like take like their upcoming launch or their upcoming, like they have all these ideas of I could do this and I could do that, and I could do this other thing. And I really distill it down to the most simple version of what they could do to grow their business, to make sales to grow their audience, whatever it is their goal is without having to. Overwork without getting so overwhelmed that they don't end up doing anything without feeling like they are sacrificing their family for their business goals. That's it. I help them simplify. The irony is, in my own head, I overcomplicate a lot. That's why I've had to teach myself this skill of simplifying, and it's much easier to do for other people. That's why I have my own coach. Okay. But I am really good at that. Kind of process, which is, okay, yes, you wanna do this launch. Oh, you wanna do a challenge and you wanna do this and you wanna do that? Okay, fine. But this is your first launch. Let's strip this down. Let's make this launch really simple. Let's make this a validation launch, right? And I did this with my client, right? And and she had an incredible beta launch. She one and a half Xed her her student goal for her first launch. And then she was able to relaunch again in a really simple way, which also converted like gangbusters because she had that really solid foundation of that simple launch. It didn't have all these bells and whistles that she then would have to recreate every time she wanted to sell her offer. Because when you have bells and whistles around every single thing you do, then you're building your business for the version of you that is at a hundred percent. And honestly, like I need to build my business for the version of me that's like at 20%. Because sometimes a lot of the time I'm gonna be at 20%, maybe not overall, but my capacity will be at 20%. And I think this needs to be an entire episode in and of itself. Okay? Probably short, but it's an important, you need to build your business for like your worst case scenario, not your best case scenario, because your best case scenario will only happen maybe 10% of the time. And knowing my life, knowing the way my life works my, I'm not gonna say it's always my worst case scenario, but my best case scenario is not common. Everyone's in school. Everyone is healthy. There's no war going on. I'm feeling amazing. I'm feeling focused. All those things. The house is clean. I don't know. All those things coalesce together, do not happen very often because I have six children. I'm a little busy and. Like I said, I always say this, I've said this before and I'll say it again. Every child you add to your family, while such a blessing is going to be an extra variable in your life, so you have now one more potential kind of spanner in the works. Every time you try to get something done because they might get sick, they might be fighting with other one, another sibling, they might they might not wanna let you work because they want attention, right? So I know that I need to build my business for the 20% version of me and not the a hundred percent version of me. The second part is signature offer clarity, and this is gonna be your one offer that becomes the foundation of your scalable business. Now, this might start as a one-to-one offer. It might start as a hybrid offer done with you. I actually start my, my, my signature offer started off as a one to many because I didn't have time to offer a one-to-one offer. Okay? So I was already delivering and designing my. Scalable offer, like with future scaling in mind. Okay. Now if you're like, no, but I do one-to-one, I do one-to-one messaging work or branding or website building or whatever. Okay, fine. We'll get there. We will get there, but you can evolve this into a group program or maybe into courses or maybe into a passive products like templates. My client right now has a messaging intensive that I am now we're now discussing the process of productizing it because I wanted it to, number one, be able to sell it on, a little webinar or in emails without really having to get on sales calls to sell it. Okay. And I would love for her to build this into a productized process that she can then potentially teach or do in a group setting, right? So when you prioritize and refine it, this offer is going to become your six figure, your multi-six figure base. Okay. So what I wanna say is, yes, cash injections are fun and we need to make money sometimes and it is what it is. Alright? But I want you to think, don't build what you'll be like, okay. I'll figure out how to scale that later from the beginning. Start with the end in mind. Okay? Is this potentially scalable later on? So when I say scalable, what I mean is if 10 people join this week, would I be fine? And if the answer to that is yes, then yes that's a scalable offer. If it's like I don't know. Okay, fine. Maybe you have a group coaching program, maybe you use some sort of onboarding process. Okay, fine. Figure out how to automate that more. Figure out how to have schedule in your onboarding so that they're not all coming in one week. Whatever, and you don't have to have every single offer be infinitely scalable. My mastermind is not infinitely scalable. My accelerator, when I had my accelerator program, it did not have one-to-one. It did have reviews, but it did not have one-to-one outside of that. And that was pretty much, that was pretty scalable. I could have scaled that to 50 people easily. Okay. That being said, i'm now currently in the I discussed this in the My Real Secrets training when I was like, okay, I'm still trying to figure out what that scalable offer is for me right now. What does that look like for me? That kind of mid tier thing that I will be able to send everybody to, because not everyone can come into my Mastermind. It's not for everybody. Okay. I do wanna have it filled for sure, but it is not for everybody. So thinking about, long term, if I had something that everyone came into, what would that thing be? Ideally, everyone would come into this. Eventually I. Think about that. The third piece is the scalable messaging, right? That messaging that communicates what that offer is and why it matters. And this needs to be very nailed down because if you're used to selling on a sales call. Then you're gonna have to think about, okay, I need to create messaging that can sell at scale. This has be messaging that can sell to people in content, in a webinar, in emails, right? So you have to really nail the messaging around your offer so that you can deliver it at scale because, getting on a sales call is like relatively easy. You present your offer or you find out what their problems are and you're like here's how I'm gonna solve your problems. And then they have an objection, and then you answer it and they might have another objection and you answer it and it's very customized. But when you are selling at scale, you are not gonna be able to have that, right? You're gonna have to have messaging that really speaks to all the different buyer types, to all the different objections, right? When you have that scalable messaging, you are gonna be preparing your business for that future automation by tracking your aligned leads. Now, okay, so what is the strategic path to a business that scales To wrap this all up, the funnel and the automations will only be able to come after you clarify your core offer because as I discussed in my Lazy Money Masterclass gel link below. When you're creating a front end offer, you wanna create some level of, like a taste of the offer that you're setting people into. Whether you're creating a taste of the knowledge that you're sharing with them or creating a taste of the experience that they're going to be having inside of that offer, you are going to want to basically pull a piece, I call it like the pie you're slicing the little piece outta the pie and sharing with them here is like a little taste of what you can get when you work with me. Whether that's in a course, whether it's in a group program, whether it's in a one-to-one or a Mastermind. So you're gonna need to have this nailed down before you. Can create frontend funnels and automations. So here's gonna be your order of operations here. You're going to define your unique genius. You're gonna build and refine your signature offer, even if it's one to one for now, it's fine as long as it you are designing it with scale in mind, whether it's the process you take people through or how you run it, it doesn't really matter. Okay? Maybe you're gonna be pulling pieces out of it. Sell it right as templates. Thinking about how am I gonna scale this later? Then you're gonna have your front end offer and lead gen strategy. And then once you have that and you've nailed creating a pool of leads for your signature offer, right? Your higher ticket, your premium offer, then you productize it into a leveraged offer. So that could be, again, of courses, it could be templates, it could be a membership. And at that point you can figure out the automated funnel that will bring in leads and nurture them on autopilot. And when your offer is proven and clear, you can turn it into a funnel based evergreen offer. You can turn it into a one to many container. You can create a load ticket product that leads back into it, right? But you have to have that clarity first. So next week on Monday, August 18th, I am going to be hosting a live free training about how to have a 50 K quarter in a very low lift, simplified. And I like using the word simplified a lot because like I said, I said this before I said it again. As a mom, our lives are complicated enough, so the more we can simplify our businesses, the better. And I'm gonna be showing you exactly how you can do this. And I'll be also sharing exactly how I did it. I had a 50 K quarter, in fact, I have a 50 K quarter. I had a 50 k, 60 days, like literally 50 K in 60 days. I'll be sharing more about that on the training. So I hit 50 K in sales. Most of it was cash to be honest. Okay? So most of it was cash, but I had 50 K in sales by. The end of November. And that did not even count any presales that I did in December for January, which I always do. So this was like, honestly, like just from October, November at 50 k and I was not selling a five figure offer. Oh great, 50 k, that's five clients at 10 KH Nope, I was not, I was selling a four figure, a mid four figure offer. I hosted a Black Friday hail. And and it was just done in a very strategic. Way. And I'm gonna be sharing exactly how I did it and your step-by-step plan for how you can do it too. Whether you're a coach, a consultant, a service provider, even a course creator, this can absolutely work for you. And I'm gonna be sharing literally this step by step on how you can do it too. So if you want to join this live retraining again, it's gonna be about a week from now, Monday on August 18th. When you sign up, you can also get the replay, even if you can't show up live. But I'm gonna be sharing exactly how I did it, how you can do it, and how I can help you do it too. Go to the link in the description and click I'm telling you exactly how to join, how to get your spot, your free spot. And honestly this is a training that like, I think could honestly be a paid one and I'm like just gonna be giving it away for free for this first time. So make sure to jump in now while it still is free. I'm really excited for this and I cannot wait to share it with you. And if you are like, oh my gosh, I'm so sold. I wanna do this. I wanna build this signature offer, I wanna be able to create a, a front end. I wanna build the foundation for my scalable business. This is exactly what we're gonna be doing in my seen, known, paid mini mind. This is going to be a four month high proximity container with me where we are going to literally do all of this. Okay? September is gonna be your visibility Month, October, you're launching your signature. Then November, you're gonna be having your down sell black slash Black Friday sales strategy, and then. December, we are gonna be pre-selling for 2026. If you wanna know more about this, the link is below. You can find out all about it. And if you have any questions about it, reach out to me on Instagram too. Alright, so check out the mini mind, and I cannot wait to see you next week.
